Flyboarding is the new incredible, adrenaline-pumping watersport created by Zapata Racing. Want something fun to do in San Diego while you’re off from work or on vacation? Ever dreamed of diving like a dolphin or flying through the air like a bird, or better yet, Iron Man? If yes, flyboarding is so for you. The great part about flyboarding is that it is very easy to learn. If you have ever tried snowboarding, you know that the first few days you spend most your time on your bottom falling down the mountain only to end up black and blue. At Fly Guys Watersports in San Diego, we have people who have never done any board sports get up within minutes of their first flight! It is by far the easiest sport to pick up and more so, you feel like you have conquered the world as you tower over the water.
Because it is relatively new, not a lot of people know how it works or even more so, what’s it called. We have heard it been referred to as skyboarding, jetboarding, the rocketboard or rocketboarding, hoverboard, jetboots, the jetpack, and the list just goes on. It’s easy to understand why it got the name Flyboarding if you understand how it works. A 60 foot hose is attached to the back of the jet ski and on the other end is the board with the person strapped in. When the jet ski turns on, the propulsion from the jet ski races through the hose to the flyboard. This force of water, which is controlled by the person on the jet ski, is what lifts someone out of the air. Once you get your control down, which isn’t hard, you can then fly. It is the most amazing experience and at Fly Guys Watersports, we have trained, certified instructors who will ensure your safety and guarantee an amazing experience you will never forget. So when you’re on vacation in San Diego and want something fun and exciting to do, come check out the premier flyboarding venue at Cabrillo Isle Marina.
